NfL Resource Development Support Program
The NfL Resource Development Support Program assists NfLs in expanding their resource development capacity with funding requests to help support outreach, communications and fundraising activities.
Requests should focus on:
• Relationship building: To help develop or expand relationships in your community and/or
• Fundraising: To support activities designed to specifically to raise money for your NfL

Grant Name: Capacity Building for Family Strengthening Networks (NEW)

Purpose: Strategies and the California Department of Social Services Office of Child Abuse Prevention (OCAP) recognize the role that family support networks play in strengthening the field and their member agencies. Therefore one of Strategies’ goals from its OCAP Scope of Work is to: … improve family strengthening … networks’ abilities to provide quality child abuse prevention services, implement effective practices, and enhance child permanency, safety, and well-being.
From on or about October 1, 2011, through June 8, 2012, they will provide selected networks with up to $3,000 and up to 15 hours of direct technical assistance to support capacity building efforts.
Grant Name: Father Engagement Capacity Building Grants (NEW)

Purpose: Fatherhood programs play an important role in enhancing family capacity and strengthening the family support field. Therefore, Strategies will be offering selected networks and organizations with up to $3,000 and up to 15 hours of direct technical assistance to support their capacity building efforts. These father engagement capacity building grants are designed to build the capacity of family strengthening networks and organizations committed to improving their ability to provide leadership in the area of father engagement.
Grant Name: Build-A-Bear Workshop Bears & Hugs Foundation (NEW)
Organization: Build-A-Bear Workshop
Grant Amount: Up to $10,000
Application Due: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis between March and August 31, 2012.
Eligibility: An applicant must be a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. Priority is given to organizations located near Build-A-Bear Workshop stores.
Purpose: BBW two funds focused on children are: Children's Health & Wellness and Literacy & Education.
Grant Name: Target Early Childhood Reading Grants

Eligibility: 501c3 organizations and schools, libraries or public agencies.
Purpose: Target awards grants to schools, libraries and nonprofit organizations to support programs such as after-school reading events and weekend book clubs. Together, we’re fostering a love of reading and encouraging children to read with their families.

Purpose: The Verizon Foundation is in the business of improving lives in literacy, knowledge and a readiness for the 21st Century.Specifically, they strive to help people to: Increase their literacy and educational achievement; Avoid being an abuser or a victim of domestic violence; Achieve and sustain their health and safety. Requests should align with one of the following funding priority areas: Education, Literacy, Domestic Violence Prevention, Healthcare and Accessibility, or Internet Safety.
Grant Name: Lego Systems Inc. Youth Creativity Programs

Eligibility: Tax exempt organizations classified under sections of the US Internal Revenue Code 501(c)3 and 107(c), specifically those with identifiable needs primarily in these areas of support early childhood education and development that is directly related to creativity.
Purpose: Grants provide funding for local and national organizations that support innovate projects and programming to cultivate and celebrate children birth to 14 years with the exploration of personal creativity and creative problem-solving in all forms.
Grant Name: Scholastic Book Grants

Eligibility: Smaller scale, unsolicited donations are provided at the one-time request by organizations that have tax-exempt classification under sections 170(c) or 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code.
Purpose: Donations will have a significant impact on fostering literacy and a joy of reading among underserved children, with a particular emphasis on inner-city and rural areas.

Eligibility for this program is limited to organizations operating in locations in which Costco employees work and live.

Purpose: P&G’s Live, Learn and Thrive program is aimed at improving life for children in need, ages 0-13, around the world. For specific funding guidelines, applicants must take the eligibility quiz. Primarily, P&G funds programs in communities in which they operate. Locally, they operate in Oxnard.
