First 5 Ventura County and its Southern California partners encourage all families to read early, read aloud and read often to the children in their lives. It's one of the best ways to build a strong academic foundation and a lifelong love of learning. Reading aloud, telling stories, singing to your child. . .these treasured activities connect parents and children while helping young minds greet their full potential.
